Palmer Wines was founded by Helen and Stephen Palmer in 1977, when the Margaret River wine region was in its infancy. Today their Tuscan style restaurant next to the cellar door is as well known as their wines.

A stone's throw from Dunn Bay in Dunsborough, Palmer Wines is located on Margaret River's famed Caves Road. Their nearby vineyard on the fertile banks of the Wilyabrup River has mature plantings of Chardonnay, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot. They also grow small amounts of Malbec and Cabernet Franc for blends. Select winemakers are appointed to make the wines, each in their unique style.

Each wine in the Purebred range is named for its winemaker: Bruce Dukes, Mark Warren and Clive Otto. The core Palmer range is led by The Grandee Reserve Cabernets.
